Jakarta – Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI) drew the attention of the commercial vehicle industry through the launch of Mercedes-Benz 0 500 RSD 2445, which includes the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) safety feature, the first of its kind in Indonesia and Asia.
This 6×2 with 3 axle is the newest model of premium bus chassis to join Mercedes-Benz’s collection of commercial vehicles. It offers lower emissions, superior comfort, and excellent driving safety features.
Mercedes-Benz 0 500 RSD 2445 ADAS Safety Feature
The Mercedes-Benz 0 500 RSD 2445 bus chassis comes with the ADAS safety feature, which includes Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA 5), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA 5)
Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA 5) is a feature designed to calculate the distance between the bus and other vehicles, and minimise the risk of collision. If the system detects a potential collision, this feature will automatically apply brakes according to the system’s limits. Armed with a radar and a camera, ABA 5 is also capable of limiting the vehicle’s speed to 50 km/hour.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
ACC works with ABA 5 to facilitate the driver in maintaining distance and speed of the vehicle automatically. This feature is helpful not only when used in public roads, but also when driving on the highway.
Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
LDWS uses a camera and sensor to ensure the vehicle stays in its lane. If the vehicle veers off lane, the driver will feel a vibration in their seat. LDWS can be activated starting from 60 km/h speed and will deactivate when the turn signal is turned on, or when the driver switch lanes on purpose.
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
ESP works to stabilise the vehicle by observing signals received from an electronic sensor. If the bus is detected to be moving forward unstably, the system will automatically decrease machine power. If decreasing machine power is not enough, the system will send a signal to the braking system to decelerate the vehicle.
This premium bus chassis qualifies for double decker buses, and is for sale starting from Rp 2,2 billion.
