Greetings from GAIKINDO!

In 2018, the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO) had the opportunity to actualize our commitment to encourage the growth of Indonesia’s automotive industry, in particular the commercial vehicle industry, as a result of the first GAIKINDO Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC), which was held from 1 until 4 March 2018 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

GIICOMVEC, a business-to-business (BtoB) exhibition focusing on the commercial vehicle industry, will be one of GAIKINDO’s commitments as an association that embraces the automotive industry in Indonesia, continuing to encourage the growth of the automotive industry in Indonesia including the commercial vehicles, in line with infrastructure development, logistics productivity, distribution, and trade in Indonesia. The commercial vehicle development alone has recorded an encouraging increase, whereas the growth of commercial vehicles has risen progressively with a 45% sales increase within 2017 compared with our achievement in 2016.

78% of the participants have perceived GIICOMVEC as a business event that increases their sales. In addition, participants also stated that GIICOMVEC became an event that brought participants together with potential target buyers and increased their brand image.

Considering the existing needs, GAIKINDO will present the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC) on an annual basis to meet the demands of commercial vehicle users to find the best references. For the Indonesian commercial vehicle brand owners (License Agents), GIICOMVEC will be an innovation window to demonstrate their consistency in developing vehicle technologies, networking platform, and information exchange, as well as serving as a yearly business event to help grow their business.

GAIKINDO gives the highest appreciation to all parties involved in the GIICOMVEC 2018 and hopes to receive the same enthusiastic support from the Indonesian commercial vehicle industry players, the commercial vehicle brand owners, and the automotive supporting industry, for the upcoming GIICOMVEC 2020.

Chairman of GAIKINDO
